If you were to ask most non technical types what a WAV file was, they wouldn't be able to give you a decent explaination. It's hard for us guys who do audio for a living to understand how ignorant some people can really be towards this type of stuff. I doubt that this is something of preference for the MAJORITY of consumers. IMO, the public doesn't really understand the difference in quality enough to appreciate it, and probably doesn't understand that side of audio in general. That's depressing, but are we going to shove quality down the throat of people if they don't want it ? (Actually, maybe we should. They are MASSIVELY prefering crappy mp3's. It just seems that the public doesn't give a damn about quality, only convenience counts. WRONG ! Everybody is complaining about it. That's right, I still want to have my cyberwar. It gets rid of piracy and it provides a clear path to keep the pirates from coming back and making the system work for everyone, globally. One thing that wouldn't happen again is showing up in a town for promo and their no product in the store and it doesn't get there for 2 weeks. They can also collect royalties and be more transparent about how it's done, reporting and auditing can be a breeze! ![]() Not only that, they can do a better job of distribution among other things like more effective promo. If the major own the ISP they can stay traditional fee method and still get rid of offending p2p. ![]() They can set up a p2p for NON-copyrighted material and run it better. If the majors buy the ISP's they control who's on and kick of offending sites who p2p copyrighted material. We can stop piracy 100% and it's going to happen. You couldn't produce anywhere near as much physical product right now if you had a hundred factories. Not even close to the same effect since there isn't anywhere near as much physical product as you can copy files on the web. That's been handled already, you get a notice, you get a way out, if you don't take it you get sued, it's already a system. ![]()
